Masoom Sharma Controversy News:
The Haryana government is stopping songs that encourage gun violence. They’ve banned several songs by Haryanvi singer Masoom Sharma, who lives in Brahmanwas village. You can no longer find his popular songs “Tuition Badmaashi Ka,” “60 Mukade,” and “Khatola” have been removed from YouTube. After his main songs were banned, Masoom Sharma went live on Facebook and claimed the government is treating him unfairly.
Masoom Sharma Said:
Masoom Sharma believes he’s being singled out. He says many songs about guns are on YouTube, but only his are being taken down. He warns that this unfair treatment could destroy the Haryanvi music scene, forcing young people to listen to Punjabi songs instead. He accuses a Haryana government official of targeting him. Sharma claims a powerful person is ordering his most popular songs to be banned because they are jealous of Haryanvi artists’ success. He suggests this official has a personal connection to that person.
Sharma also said this same official had KD Danoda’s performance at the Surajkund fair canceled. He claims that some artists have gotten government jobs but don’t care about other artists or Haryanvi art. He says they haven’t done anything to help the Haryanvi music industry. Instead, these people are making lists of songs they want banned and giving them to the government.
Sharma says the government also took down one song each from Narendra Bhagana and Ankit Baliyan. He thinks this was just to make it look like they weren’t only targeting him. He points out that these songs had over 100 million views. He believes they’re specifically banning his most popular songs. He has many other songs, and if they’re banning his, they should ban those too. He argues that other artists are getting away with releasing very vulgar songs by calling them ‘folk music,’ and those should be banned too.
